Show Me The Gold!

My Olympic knitting is done! Whoo hooo!

I. Did. It!! WHEW!!!

Not only did I finish The Bunny (as was my goal) ... but I added in a scarf for The Bunny (I still chuckle over knitting a scarf for a stuffed animal!) ....AND I also managed to pull off The Cute Little Felted Purse.

See?

That purse was a bit iffy at first, let me tell you. That puppy just did not want to felt right.

For instance, this is the purse pre-felted, Notice how well proportionate the height and width are:

So why, oh why then, did it felt into the shape of a banana-hammock*?? Inquiring minds want to know.

So I'd stretch it and refelt, stretch it and refelt ..... but after umpteen** runs through the washing machine .... I made peace with the shape (fine, fine ....I gave up ... whatever! ;)).

And really, once I sewed on the handles and the ornamentation, it looks fine. It's certainly the fanciest banana-hammock I've ever seen!! ;)

So, tell me, where's my medal?? :)

* Sorry. Just saw that Friends episode recently where Phoebe changes her name to Princess Consuela Banana-Hammock. It stuck! :)
** in this case, "umpteen" would be equal to "5"! ;)

So...um...for those who haven't seen the Friends episode, but have seen the Scrubs episode...your purse is NOT in the shape of a banana hammock. Because then it would look like a man's thong. And it certainly doesn't look like that.

I believe that style is what is referred to as "hobo". Thank the Coach website.

Okay...now that I clicked the link to the recipe for the bag...it's supposed to be that shape. Trust a purse-ho. (This is different than a shoe-ho...and I am both. I should know.)

Very cute purse - be it a hobo bag or a banana hammock! I'd never have known it was questionable without the running commentary.

But keep up the running commentary - I have to live vicariously through those who actually finish projects that are on the needles...

..lol. No, you're T3. It's official! So please feel free to use that in the comments.

And consider the purse your daughters. (Now, she realizes I expect it to be framed and hung over the mantel for all to adore, right? ...lol.)

p.s. No charge. You'll need your money for the elaborate framing job you'll be giving it!! ;)

I'll try to get it to T1 next time I see her so she can get it to you.

T3 here Thank you so much, I emailed her a pic and she was so excited. I did tell her you expected her to frame it and hang it over the mantel but her reply was and I quote

"Hell no that baby rocks I will be sporting that puppy all over campus"
