Time to break out the straight jacket

So I had a bizarro dream last night and I'm not sure what it means. Care to help?

First you should know that I labored for hours over making and icing that dang cake last night in anticipation for my cake decorating class tonight. HOURS!

WHO KNEW it could be such a pain in the arse to make icing from scratch! (and hello?! I've never heard of Crisco solid shortening until my teacher suggested it so how was I supposed to know that I have to purchase the PURE WHITE kind ... else my frosting comes out pale yellow (oops!*)). And then to attempt to ice the cake in such a way as to get the icing to sit completely flat, wrinkle-free and crumb-free. (of which it is not, might I add). Yeahhh. Not really my idea of a fun evening.

But I digress. On to the dream!

So in the dream I show up to class and I have completely forgotten my cake! ARGH, right?! I mean, what the hell am I going to decorate? Anyway, everyone else is there with their perfectly iced cakes, ready to get to the lesson. But when one of the chicks hears that I forgot my cake, she, Miss Ever-Prepared, says not to worry because she came overly-prepared for the class. So she reaches into her bag and hands me a perfectly seasoned, scrumiliciously looking, already cooked chicken breast!!!

Y'all ... WTF?!

And if that wasn't crazy enough .... instead of reacting in a "WTF??" manner ... I am actually relieved and grateful for the chicken breast!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Like it was actually solving all my problems!

Holy hell, y'all! It's time to show me to the looney bin. It's the only way I can explain it!

*I will, of course, be telling folks in class that I MEANT for the icing to be yellow. Plain white icing ... BAH ... how boring!! Yep, I used some of the yellow food coloring to pretty it up some, that's right. (hey, that's my story and I'm stickin' to it!!!! :))

Here's my guesss:
You are processing feeling unprepared (but not necessarily just about this class) AND your sub-conscious is trying to tell you that someone (Miss Ever-Prepared) LOOKS like they're helping you, but they're really NOT.

Being relieved that you got a chicken breast is just weird dream sh*t.

Good luck!

Okay, MeLissa ... then maybe I'll have to ban you from reading tomorrow's post!...lol I'm planning on posting a picture of my first cake and it is not worthy of being viewed by a Grand Master Cake Decorator. Hell, even I can't stop snickering at it!!!!! ...lol

Hmmm, dreams are odd. I am inclined to agree with Becky. (not only does she make sense, it keeps me from having to think after only two sips of latte this morning).

Damn, I was going to see if you'd want to meet up at Close Knit tonight for their s&b too...ah well.

WAIT! You posted that yesterday, does that mean it's a Tuesday night class? If so, I'll probably be going to Close Knit on NE Alberta and 20something (low 20s) after I get home from work. I think the energy from knitters I do not know could be a good thing and help me become energized to finish my three scarves I need to get done for a trip in November (they will be gifts for four people I see...one is already done). I ramble...where is my latte?!

he he he I am glad there is someone in the family more crazy than me...way to go! I equate chicken breasts with Must Love Dogs with being single...but that's me.....or maybe you just feel guilty eating cake (because of said diet) and have inserted a chicken breast as a healthy alternative....Did you frost it???

Hmmm, Shannon ... thanks for the invite. Not sure I can make it tonight (might) but if not let's do it another time. I too have knitting that must get done. Soon. (yikes!!)

Goodgirl036 ... I'm pretty sure the chicken breast has nothing to do with the diet (errr, or better stated as "what diet?"). But that "singles" theory ... hmmmm ... so someone is handing me MORE singleness?? I don't like it ... so at this point I'm going to have to go with Becky's interpretation ...lol!
